Volunteers
Volunteering is a great way to visit the camp and meet new people from the surrounding communities. Tipi camp offers many volunteer opportunities. To a large degree our success is possible because of the thousand of hours of volunteer service donated to the society. People serve with us for many reasons and in many ways. But all contribute outstanding personal qualities and help broad the based connections within our community.
The Tipi Camp is always welcoming volunteer services, if you are interested in offering your skills and time please contact us by filling in the form below or come to our volunteer sign up day in May. Most volunteer days consist of 3 or 4 hours shifts. We are looking forward to seeing you there.
Guiding Hands Recreation Society has always been fortunate to have many people involved, countless people with vision, with a capacity for long, hard hours of unpaid labour, with a sense of service, and this should continue, because the Tipi Camp is a special place, and people will always want to contribute, to visit, and to connect with nature.
Some of the skills that we in particular are looking for:
- website development and marketing
- advertising and marketing
- grant writing
We offer care taking opportunities to our devoted volunteers. As a caretaker you help keep an eye on the site between workshops, we also might ask you to do some small necessary chores. Camp sitting is a great oppertunity to get some solo time at the camp or invite a small groups of friends. When you want to stay at the camp but you haven’t done any volunteer work or you want to stay at the camp with more than seven people, you can rent the tipi camp.
